Mitsubishi Chemical and LG Chem
- Mitsubishi Chemical
(1) Introduction
Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation is the largest chemical company in Japan. Founded in 1950, it has developed into a comprehensive chemical company with 371 subsidiaries. Its sales ranks first in Japan and fifth in the world. The main products of Mitsubishi Chemical are as follows: functional materials and plastic products (including information and electronic products, specialty chemicals, pharmaceuticals), petrochemicals, carbon and agricultural products.
(2) Inventor partnership
The main inventors of Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation in the field of power-type lithium ion electrode materials are shown in Table 1. The patent application period is between 2010 and 2012, and the average annual number of patent applications is 4. The technical fields of the main inventors are concentrated in Power tool power supply, rechargeable and secondary batteries, and electrode technology.

Figure 1 shows the cooperation network of Mitsubishi Chemical’s main inventors in the field of power-type lithium-ion electrode active materials technology. The map selects the top 20 inventors in the number of patent applications for analysis. It can be seen from the figure that there is a technical cooperation team composed of 6 people and a technical cooperation team composed of 3 people. The main technical cooperation direction of the technical cooperation team composed of 6 people including KUBAK is tin-containing lithium-ion power battery anode active materials; the main research content of the technical cooperation team composed of 3 people including ORTTOK is lithium-ion secondary batteries for electric vehicles. A battery negative electrode active material, this negative electrode active material contains a porous sintered body formed of silicon and tin-copper metal plates.

- LG Chem
(1) Introduction to the organization
LG Chem is affiliated to the LG Group, one of the three major groups in South Korea, and is one of the most important divisions of the LG Group. More than half a century since its establishment in 1947. LG Chem has grown into Korea’s largest comprehensive chemical company leading the Korean chemical industry through continuous innovation and R&D activities. LG Chem vigorously develops international business activities through dozens of domestic and overseas production corporations, research institutes, and marketing organizations, centered on three businesses: petrochemicals, information and electronic materials, and secondary batteries.
(2) Inventor partnership
The main inventors of LG Chem in the technical field of power-type lithium-ion electrode active materials are shown in Table 2. The patent application period is concentrated between 2006 and 2012, and the average annual patent application volume is 4. The technical fields of the main inventors It focuses on the technical fields of power supply, rechargeable batteries and secondary batteries for motor vehicles.

Figure 3 shows the technical cooperation network of LG Chem’s main inventors in the field of power-type lithium-ion battery electrode active materials technology. The map selects the top 50 inventors for patent applications for analysis. As can be seen from the figure, there are mainly three technical cooperation teams. The technical cooperation team composed of 5 people including PARKTI mainly focuses on the technical cooperation direction of the power battery negative active material of mixed stone and conductive carbon material: the positive active material of lithium manganese oxide. The main research content of the technical cooperation team consisting of 13 people including PARKMS is the cathode active material of lithium-ion secondary battery for electric vehicles.
